I love this image, I love that they include animals in the cycle (although a few more non-mammals would have been nice), I love that they show the transformation from old and infirm to young and healthy (if helpless at the beginning). The mystery of what lies beyond life is one of the great speculations of spirituality. Humans in many cultures remember past lives, and yet it is generally accepted that while there is accumulated learning, we set it aside temporarily during life, perhaps so we can concentrate on the current lessons? Other’s speculate on what happens to consciousness after we die (or before we are born). And what lessons do we learn from the transition points of into and out of embodied life? These may well be the speculations and discussions that have more meaning than all the topics that only deal with a single lifetime, and get us closer to the meaning of life.
