There are three sorts of Russian stories. Fairy tales: things people understand they won’t encounter, (we can ask her to come back and share those another time!), Bylini: Things that happened (occasionally including supernatural/ magical realism), and Folk Demonology: beings people firmly believe inhabit the world along with us, like Domovoi, Kikimora, Rusalki, Leshiy, Poludnitza, witches and wizards, werewolves, and revenants.
(One hour is just not enough to go into all of it.)

Laska Koudelka is an SCA member of almost twenty years, with interest in fiber arts and history and culture. In the modern world, Olya (Olga) Novozhilova has a degree from University of South Florida in Classics and History with a minor in Russian Studies.

People are psychic, magick is real, ghosts and other spirits exist, and people can heal with energy. Each culture around the world had come up with ways to explore these realities, and that’s great, we can learn from each other, that’s how we change the world.
