We are all connected, even though we may not remember it all the time. We probably think about our lives the way we think of trees we pass: we don’t think about the roots, hidden below the surface, where we will NEVER see them. We rarely go up into the canopy, or are more than marginally aware of the creatures that live in the trees, whether birds, climbing animals, or insects. When we think about the connections and follow them from what feeds us to what’s above us, we become better able to contact our ancestors and our descendants. We learn to follow the channels within our own bodies and communities. We learn to travel the connected worlds. We learn to access the stored energy within. The trees have much to teach us.
