Thank you all for coming
It occurs to me that we are once more in a “liminal time”. The CTCW conference is done, mostly, for 2020. (We still have a few things to finish up. We are hoping to caption the recordings that we have posted, and Orion has offered to do the class he missed for us.) At the same time we are looking forward to next year, but it’s far enough away that we can relax before starting to plan and get ready for it.
Once again I find myself amazed at the knowledge, wisdom, kindness, generosity, and patience of the people who make up the CTCW community. Without Katheryn Smith doing the computer stuff (backstage, during workshops, juggling the schedule, she even did tutorials for speakers who weren’t familiar with zoom), Lois Fitzpatrick putting up the recordings onto the Youtube platform, Maryalyce “herding cats”, getting us to try to organize things in the middle of this chaotic year the Virtual version of CTCW couldn’t have happened. It may go without saying that without the speakers we couldn’t have a con at all, but at the same time, we wouldn’t have one without the attendees, whether you were there for the live workshops and panels, or are quietly catching up on them in private. Everyone who mentioned CTCW to someone who hadn’t heard about it before, and encouraged friends to join us. Thank you!
CTCW has a common handicap of trying to serve a huge spectrum of interests. People are psychic, and we try to reach anyone out there who wants to learn more about that, to learn more about making these abilities useful, and not “spooky”. We try to create communication between all the communities who accept that there is more to reality than just the physical, although many of them are understandably wary of reaching out to other groups, having been rejected for their acceptance of the supernatural too often. There are people out there from farmers dowsing for a new well, to nurses using Reiki to help their patients, energy healers, mystics, ghost-hunters and shaman who help the dead… While we have open minds and awareness, we may have little else in common.
We don’t want to lose track of each other between now and next November, but this year has pushed us to learn the joys of electronic communication. We will continue to share our knowledge and skills on the weekly CTCW shows, and are considering having monthly social meetings, to allow us to chat and catch up. Classes this year have already inspired new classes to continue topics that need more exploration.
The Wednesday show this week will be our “Feedback” session. We’ll start it early- at 7 PM this week. We want to let hear from everyone, especially if you attended. If Wednesday’s not convenient for you- please leave any thoughts you want to share here, or message whichever of us you think needs to know about it if you don’t want it public. As always, if you’d be willing to do a workshop on CTCW Wednesday Show, let me (Tchipakkan Fair Richards-Taylor) know, and we’ll schedule it. If there’s a show or speaker you want to see, let me know and I’ll try to make it happen, same if there’s a topic you would like to see (panel style) and let me know, whether you want to be on it, or simply want to see it.
