Create the Change

Posted on Updated on

You may have wondered about the rather unwieldy name for our conference. When we were designing the conference, we were trying to figure out what we wanted to accomplish. What we hope to do is to change our parent culture in which the reality of many energy fields, many beings and many effective practices that can enhance our lives are rejected out of hand. We were thinking how great it would be if our children’s generation lived in a world where it was accepted that people are psychic and you wouldn’t have to hint about it, talk around it, or pretend that it wasn’t real so that you wouldn’t be considered foolish. That’s backwards! How foolish is it to deny evidence‽

We feel that if we can get the world to accept these realities and both benign and useful (yes, some people still feel that anything “occult” must be dangerous!) that they will be available to enhance daily life. How much better off we are when we know the benefits of using herbs for medicinal as well as culinary purposes. Yet there are still people out there who figure that if a remedy doesn’t come in a box, it “can’t work”.

There are people who scoff at “water witching”, yet many people quietly have a dowser locate their well. The American Dowsing Society has groups that provide this service in third world countries, and their experiences show how well it works.

I know that I use dowsing nearly daily to find lost objects around the house. Our family uses crystals for healing, as well as homeopathy, acupressure and aromatherapy. All of these things are said by critics to be useless, and even harmful if they prevent people from going to “established” practitioners. If they weren’t working, of course we’d go to someone who could help.

But we need to change the story- the dialogue- how people talk about the unknown. At this point anything paranormal in film is still lumped into the Horror genre. As you may have noticed in the last paragraph, much of what I use these ‘supernatural’ techniques for is practical, finding lost objects or healing faster. The world would simply be easier to navigate if we didn’t deny an entire section of available human abilities. So when thinking about the future, think about a world where there is no resistance, no denial, no pretense that magick isn’t real. The world is changing, we just want to make it better.

Changing Times-Changing Worlds Theme 2018

Posted on

This year the conference theme is Change:

Change as Opportunity:  Rising to the Challenge.

It’s hardly surprising that we would choose change as a theme, when the point of the conference is that we want to change the world, to help it accept that people are able perceive and to effect- to change- the world through our inner energies. Since the Enlightenment, Westerners have separated Science and “What’s real” over on one side, and Religion and Magick over on the other side, putting it on the ‘optional’ menu, which has severely handicapped us all by not allowing them to include any evidence they find that suggests that everything that is real must be based in the physical world.

Those who encounter the “supernatural”, “metaphysical”, “occult”, or “paranormal” are shunted off to the “kook” seating. When solid science leads to evidence that other worlds and abilities exist and may explain how the world works, the scientists involved must carefully couch their findings in ambiguities in order to be allowed to publish the findings in mainstream literature. IMO, to require your results to reflect your pre-selected position is not science! We must come to a place where whatever the results we find are accepted, even if they indicate the presence of psychics, ghosts, other worlds and non-corporal beings.

The resistance probably comes from the claims of infallibility- once one has suggested that their position is the only correct option, then any change proves that their earlier position was wrong, proving them fallible. This is a hard position from which to back down.

Although the Scientific method requires that after testing an hypothesis, we accept the results of the test, in practice, results are accepted if they support a hypothesis that goes along with the old paradigms, and if they don’t, then the tests were clearly flawed- not the “only the physical is real” paradigm.

It is often said that “Insanity is when you keep doing the same thing and expect results to change.” But results often change. There are so many variables that we shouldn’t be surprised when it does. Happily Quantum Physics and Chaos Theory are beginning to break down the old paradigm and we are gradually learning that it’s fine to accept that we didn’t get everything precisely right the first time. My mother used to say that the “average lifespan of a scientific fact was five years”, and certainly we are learning new things that challenge the old ways daily.

Change is difficult to deal with, especially when we have to make major decisions, medical and legal ones based on what we believe is real. Every time we realize we’ve made a mistake, we have to accept that we may have hurt someone, or done something wrong, because of what we thought was true, but wasn’t. It is better to deal with those mistakes and move on, rather than to continue to make them and compound the harm. (How many of us had to learn as children to hide psychic talents because we would be teased or reprimanded?)

So this year we are looking at change, and how to direct it to where we want to go.

Art Show

Posted on Updated on

With Joy as this year’s theme, we’ve decided to have another Art Show! (We had one last when the theme was Communication.)

Two years ago we were back at the Northampton MA site where we started, and Raymond Taylor did this birds eye view painting of that hotel- which no longer exists except in our memories, and this painting.

No matter what your medium, or whether you work in sacred space or just bliss out, we hope you’ll come and share your work this year at the art show.

Starwolf on Bindrunes

Posted on Updated on

If you missed the live show, here’s the link to the archive.
Please join Tchipakkan and long time CTCW speaker Starwolf on the New Normal 8 pm Wednesday, July 19, 2017, 8-9 p.m. edt.

We’ll be talking about bindrunes
It’s another podcast coming up for your education and entertainment!
Wednesday night Starwolf will be talking with Tchipakkan on http://liveparanormal.com/ from 8-9 pm.
The topic of the evening is Bindrunes and Rune Magick. We’re told that the runes were given to the Norse folks by Odin. They’re a symbol system, an alphabet, a method of divination and a method of working with energy, and Starwolf and Tch

ipakkan will be talking about the more metaphysical uses of the Runes.
What is a bindrune? It’s when combine two or more runes often using the same long central line. The magickal properties of both/ all runes are still there. Why and how would you do this? Listen to learn more.

Want to catch this interview, call in with your own questions?
If you just want to listen, you can go to www.liveparanormal.com , click the “Listen Live and Chat” listing under the “radio-listen/chat room” heading, and click “LISTEN HERE” next to “the New Normal”.

If you can’t tune in 8-9, Live Paranormal.com archives its shows by date, and I archive them by date, guest, and topic on my website: http://tchipakkan.wordpress.com/the-new-normal/directory-of-podcasts/

Open Healing

Posted on

One of CTCW’s favorite events, this space is held with a variety of intentions and benefits the practitioners and recipients alike. We open this space for practitioners who would like more experience with a new-to-them modality or with a modality or technique they may not have used in a while as well as those who would like to join us to give and receive a session. We also welcome people who are in need of a healing boost to come and experience a modality they may not have experienced before. During this time, sessions will be shorter (although not necessarily less effective) and this is also a time when we learn from each other and depart feeling relaxed, empowered, grateful, and all good things. Healing practitioners who volunteer their time for this often learn tips and new techniques to add to their healing toolbox. Note: Open Healing sessions are not meant to replace full sessions given by our amazing practitioners who are available throughout the conference. Practitioners who wish to participate should email Maryalyce at CTCWplanning@gmail.com with a short bio & healing modalities being offered. Recipients who would like to be worked on should use the sign-up sheets posted on the door of the Healing Room.
